ATTENTION ALUMNAE OF FLORENCE CRITTENTON PROGRAMS OF SC
If you were ever a client at Florence Crittenton Programs of SC, you’re invited to join us in the creation of an ongoing important community of people, our Alumnae. We’re envisioning a vital group of graduates connecting with each other as well as supporting FCP and its current clients.
FOUR PRIORITIES – ALUMNAE SUPPORTING FCP of SC
We need your help. As an alumna, your participation in any one of the following roles would be invaluable in supporting our current & future clients.
1) Community Liaison:
In this role, Alumnae are called on a few times per year to communicate with the public community on behalf of Florence Crittenton Programs of SC.
Goal: Increase community awareness & FCP visibility
Examples of activities include:
- Write an article for a newspaper or the FCP website
- Accompany a staff member to a speaking engagement in the community
- Be interviewed by a reporter
Knowledge & talents desired:
- Effective communication skills – verbal or written
- Willingness to share
- Willingness to reach out to the community
- Be available to staff on an as needed basis
Time commitment estimate: 5 hrs per year
2) Positive Influencer:
In this role, Alumnae are called on to participate in organized workshops and events developed by FCP staff & delivered to our Residential clients two or three times a year.
Goal: Create an opportunity for residents to expand their ideas & perspectives as well as to learn from those who have “been there” by sharing personal knowledge, experiences and life lessons.
Examples of activities include:
- Participate in a structured panel discussion
- Participate in a workshop or clinic or planned event
Knowledge & talents desired:
- Willingness to share
- Willingness to work with others
- Willingness to be a positive role model
Time commitment estimate: 10 hrs per year
3) Board Committee Member:
In this role, Alumnae serve a one year term on an existing FCP Board Committee (Faith-based, Fundraising, or Public Relations).
Goal: Increase effectiveness of Board Committee work through the active participation of Alumnae.
Examples of activities include:
- Committee meetings once every month (evenings)
- Manage or help with fundraisers
- Meet with local community organizations
Knowledge & talents desired:
- Willingness to share ideas
- Willingness to work with others
Time commitment estimate: 15 hrs per year
4) Advisory Board Member:
In this role, Alumnae serve a one year term on an Advisory Board to provide specific feedback – regarding current or planned FCP initiatives – through an organized process two or three times a year.
Goal: Increase the overall health of the FCP organization by integrating Alumnae input & guidance into the decision making process.
Examples of activities include:
- Meet with FCP staff to respond to structured questions
- Advise on policies & programs
- Complete surveys or feedback instruments
Knowledge & talents desired:
- Willingness to share opinions
- Willingness to work with others
- Willingness to share expertise and thinking
Time commitment estimate: 5 hrs per year
In addition, we’d also love help with …
- Locating other graduates to develop a current, accurate contact list
- Planning an annual reunion
