   Charleston, SC — July 22, 2024 —Florence Crittenton Programs of South Carolina (FCP-SC) is proud to announce the appointment of three new board members and a new Operations Manager. These individuals bring diverse backgrounds and a shared passion for our mission to support and empower women, children, and families in our community.

Rachel Brown is a dedicated professional passionate about empowering young mothers and fostering community development. Rachel is currently pursuing a doctorate in Public Administration, and excels in government contracts, focusing on research and development for innovation and economic growth. Through volunteer work with Be a Mentor and Florence Crittenton, Rachel supports young mothers, reflecting her resilience and commitment to community impact.

Kevin Dougherty brings a rich history of service in the US Army, higher education, and the nonprofit sector. A historian and author of books on local history, Kevin and his wife Rhonda are active members of the First Baptist Church of Charleston. Kevin’s connection to Florence Crittenton is deeply personal, as his foster daughter is a success story of the organization.

Kristen Fry joins the Board with extensive experience in business development, having worked for FedEx across multiple states and launched three offices for City Wide Facility Solutions in Charleston. Currently with Lutes Property Services, Kristen has been a dedicated advocate for women, children, and family welfare organizations since 2005 and has been actively involved with Florence Crittenton since 2019.

In addition to our new Board members, we are excited to welcome Jill Almirall as our new Operations Manager. Jill Almirall comes to FCP with 20 years of experience in business administration and marketing. She specializes in streamlining operations, developing communications, creating processes, and managing projects. Jill’s passion for Florence Crittenton’s mission comes from personal experience and a drive to support young women on their path to self-sustainability. She graduated from the Colorado State University Business School with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. A Colorado native, Jill enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, trying new food, walking her dogs on the beach, traveling, and exploring the beauty and history of Charleston.
